*************************************************************** FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS … *************************************************************** What to Wear. Wear something cool and comfortable - eg girls: t shirt/strappy top and jeans ok, guys: similar!?, or whatever you feel you like to wear. Shoes: again something comfortable that will stay on your feet. There are a lot of turns in salsa so a leather sole is great but not essential as long as you're comfortable. Dance shoes if you have them. Trainers, mules, too high heels, are not ideal. Drinks: All venues have a bar and where a bar is not available, water is. If you want something else to drink (at Bolton and Manchester) bring what you like. It is important to make sure you drink something as you can get hot. What age: The groups are mixed - the important thing is if you like to dance and you are fit. Salsa can be quite energetic Our youngest has been 9 and our oldest 72 but generally ages range between 20s-early 50s. Can I come on my own or do I need a partner? Anyone can join the classes with friends, a partner or alone. Lots of people do come on their own - we move people round so you soon get to know everyone. Note for Men Men tend to be a little more reticent about joining the classes - one of the reasons being they don't want to look 'silly' or they might fancy it but don't want to admit it to their mates. We don't want anyone to 'feel stupid, look silly or feel uncomfortable'. The classes are to enjoy and to learn how to dance real salsa. Believe me, everyone is too busy concentrating on themselves to worry about what anyone else is doing. Dancing with a woman is the most natural thing in most countries except apparently in England! There's more to life than football and what a perfect way to meet lots of ladies and they much prefer to dance with men. Bring the mates and let them prove themselves! Salsa is a 'macho' dance, our challenge is that you'll enjoy it - give it a go. **************************************************************
